In 2009 the Willingham's were looking for a new property to plunge into and unexpectedly stumbled into an art deco style building that was much in need of restoration. It was just what they needed to throw themselves into as their creative juices needed stimulating by what they love, creating unusual spaces people love to be in !
The building needed first and foremost a new roof. Old plaster needed repair and gallons and gallons of paint were spread on every wall and ceiling and at 6,000 sq. feet that was a lot of paint! New electrical and plumbing updates were required and all the floors needed repair and refinishing. The exterior needed a fresh look which would reflect it's rich past.
The couple saw the opportunity to create a stunning art and antique gallery which has helped to rejuvenate their small but active art community. The mix of old and new, traditional and funky, past and unexpected artistic pleasures has created a real buzz and excitement in the high country. In a time of economic downturn the Willingham's have been touched by the community's appreciation for taking a risk to bring to the area an exciting new business.
